Dennis Idahosa, the Deputy Governor of Edo, has reaffirmed his commitment to working harmoniously with Governor Monday Okpebholo, emphasising that their ultimate goal is to prioritise the welfare of the Edo people.
He stated this during an interview with Channels TV on Wednesday.
Idahosa expressed gratitude towards the governor for embracing him as a younger brother, rather than merely as his deputy.
“Nobody should expect any misunderstanding between me and my principal (Monday Okpebholo)… Our ultimate goal is to put the Edo people first. The current governor has taken me as his younger brother and not just his deputy,” he stated.
As the newly elected Deputy Governor, Idahosa brings a wealth of experience to the table, having previously served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2019 to 2024.
Governor Okpebholo and Deputy Governor Idahosa were sworn in on November 12, 2024, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
Since taking office, Governor Okpebholo has already begun making key appointments, including naming Hon. Gani Audu as his Chief of Staff.
The synergy between Idahosa and Okpebholo is expected to yield positive outcomes for the people of Edo, as they work together to address pressing issues and drive development.
