No fewer than 600 Nollywood actors including Ibrahim Chatta, Bimbo Adeboye, Yemi Shodimu, Antar Laniyan, Bolaji Amusan (Mr Latin), Bimbo Oshin, Iyabo Ojo, Muyiwa Ademola, Jigan Baba Oja and host of others, will storm Akure the capital city of Ondo for the production of a movie titled “Apaara” by Damilare Adebayo and Sunday Alabi Osibata.
Speaking while unveiling the logo and artwork for the new film, a director of the project and popular Nollywood star, Damola Olatunji, commended the producer of the film which is set to correct the ills of the society.
Olatunji who disclosed that he was attracted to the work by the storyline and characters in “Apaara”, saying he was attracted to work with him because of the personality of the producers as a young men
Olatunji expressed optimism that the film will challenge the norm that only big names can produce a winning film.
“Apara is here to corect ills in the society. It is a world class project that will stand out to defend itself.
“All we need is your support and encouragements. The multi million naira project will among others boost economic activities in the state as well as provide meals for families on set.
He commended the state government creating an enabling environment for talent and creativity in the state, saying the state government has been priority to the security of lives and property.
According to him, over 600 actors will feature in Apaara, the first ever blockbuster cinematographic film which will be shot in the state, saying “all is now set for the shooting of the first ever cinematographic film titled, “Apaara” in the state”
Also speaking, the National President of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN),. Mr. Taiwo Adebayo-Gold, said it is the first time Ondo state will be playing host to Nollywood star in a blockbuster cinematographic film.
Comrade Adebayo who said Ondo State is indeed blessed and endowed with great potentials further noted that the shooting of the film will be the largest ever in the history of the state.
While endorsing the project, Comrade Adebayo described the film as a milestone achievement going by the precedents laid by the likes of late Biodun Ibitola of REMDEL.
He also congratulated Comrade Osibata under whose leadership, fresh air is being injected into the industry after years of running at the lowest ebb since the death of Ibitola.
Also speaking on the project, the Executive Producer, Mr. Damilare Adebayo, the CEO of Modern Star Investment Ltd said he was inspired by the script which will bring a captivating story to life and provoke actions.
He also assured that a team made up of visionary professionals and directors are on ground to ensure a perfect shoot and delivery of the project.
Giving his own remarks, Comrade Sunday Alabi Osibata, Assistant National General Secretary (TAMPAN) and Line Producer/Director said “Apaara” is one project he holds dearly to heart as it explores the depth of human spirit.
According to him, the language film is set in south western Nigeria and enriched with a captivating storyline.
He also used the opportunity to call for the support of the press and other well meaning Nigerians towards the success of the project.
In a separate remark, the State Governor, Ondo StateTheatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) Bashorun Aderemi Kamala applauded the team under the leadership of Comrade Sunday Alabi Osibata for bringing Ondo State to the world.
The major high point of the event however is the unveiling of the logo, the artwork as well as the social media handles which include apaara_themovie on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and apaarathemovie on Facebook.
