Due to the capital-intensive nature and unique operational requirements of public broadcast media, it is recommended that these organizations be exempted from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) arrangement of the federal government.

The Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa, Oba Olusayo Ogungbangbe, made this suggestion during a courtesy visit by the management of Radio Nigeria, Gold FM, led by the new General Manager, Mrs. Kemi Oni, to his palace.

Oba Ogungbangbe emphasized that for the station to operate smoothly, especially given its susceptibility to natural challenges and technical issues, it needs a degree of autonomy to overcome the bureaucratic hurdles typically associated with public organizations.

He cited instances of thunder strikes and inconsistent power supply as challenges that hinder public infrastructure from competing effectively with their private sector counterparts.

According to Oba Ogungbangbe, the station’s bulletin and the Ibe Oni (newspaper review), which air continuously between six and seven o’clock in the morning, remain the best sources of information in Osun State.

The monarch called for unity among the staff and encouraged them to collaborate with the new General Manager to elevate the station, emphasizing that collective effort is essential for success.

While congratulating the General Manager on her appointment, Oba Ogungbangbe assured that he would continue to support the station as needed, noting that Gold FM is a source of pride for the people of Iloko-Ijesa.

In her remarks, Mrs. Olukemi Oni, the General Manager of Gold FM, Ilesa, expressed gratitude to Oba Ogungbangbe for his ongoing support and fatherly guidance. She also requested further support and blessings to advance the station’s progress.
