…charges religious leaders to be more fervent in prayer
Governor, State of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, has reiterated his administration’s commitment towards the welfare of the citizenry, as well as efforts to strengthen the state’s economy.
He stressed that government in the state would stop at nothing to continue to create enambling environment for businesses to strive in a secured atmosphere.
The governor, also implored residents of the state to cooperate with government in every area of development, adding that speedy development and growth require concerted efforts of all stakeholders.
Oyetola, gave the assurance at the official launching of the fourth Synod of Diocese of Osun North East, Anglican Communion, held at the Diocese’s headquarters, located at Otan Ayegbaju, in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of the state, with the theme: ‘Let there be light’.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Benedict Alabi, further disclosed that the government in the state is too responsive and sensitive to people’s needs and aspirations than to deprive them of their rights in any form.
He added that the erroneous impression created by fifth columnists recently about the government, when some people went to loot CACOVID palliative materials was a calculated attempt to score cheap political goals.
” It is very clear that this goverment will never keep what is meant for the people somewhere, and deliberately deprived them of such. It is obvious that at the me in which the materials were looted, we are still expecting the rice component, which responsible for delay in distribution”, Oyetola explained .
He therefore charged religious organisations in the state to ceacelessly pray for the success of his administration, as he expressed appreciation to them for what he termed ‘unflinching support and cooperation’ during the lockdown occasioned by the outbreak of coronavirus.
