Oyo State government has hinted that it is set to launch a software designed for pensioners in the state.
Executive Chairman, Oyo state Pensions Board, Tunji Adekunle, said the software would enable pensioners have easy access to confirm their living status from the comfort of their homes, using either a smartphone or a computer system.
He gave the assurance during a meeting with pensioners at the Pensioners’ House, Onireke, Ibadan, saying that the Oyo State government will continue to prioritise the welfare of the senior citizens in the state.
He said the software would relieve them the field verification they had been carrying out all year, thereby reducing stress of travelling long distances.
He explained that the Governor Seyi Makinde is one of the governors that began the payment of wages award for civil servants and pensioners in the state.
He said the government would not relent in its pursuit to improve living standard of its retirees, adding that it placed premium on the welfare and wellbeing of its pensioners.
He hinted that the Pensions’ Board has put in place lots of programmes that will benefit the senior citizens in the state.
He called on the pensioners to be wary of fraudsters and desist from engaging unfamiliar faces to do their paperwork for them.
The chairman, therefore, sought for continuous support of pensioners to the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration in the state.
