Oyo State House of Assembly has. passed the N50bn supplementary budget forwarded to it by Governor Seyi Makinde.
The bill was passed on Wednesday after the the report of the Committee on Public Account and Appropriation headed by Akeem Mustapha was deliberated upon during the plenary.
The governor’s request scaled through first and second readings on Tuesday and the lawmakers adjourning sitting to Wednesday.
The bill, after the clause-by-clause consideration at the Committee of the Whole House chaired by the Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin, was unanimously passed into law by the lawmakers.
The chairman of the committee, Akeem Mustapha, while working with journalists after the plenary said the budget was for infrastructural development.
He said the three project which the governor sought the lawmakers approval for were Ibadan Circular Road (N25bn), Iseyin-Ogbomoso Road (N15bn) and Ibadan Airport Improvement (N10bn).
The governor had explained that the fund would be provided by the Central Bank of Nigeria under the Differentiated Cash Reserves Requirements of which N100bn was approved by the state’s House of Assembly.
