The Chairman of the National Committee of Congress, Osun State, Mr. Gbenga Elegbeleye, yesterday unveiled the results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congresses conducted last Saturday.

Elegbeleye, at a news conference addressed by the Caretaker Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun, said the APC state secretariat explained that “those that were screened were allowed to participate in the congresses and they were the ones who participated in the congresses.”

He added: “They are the ones that are so declared the winners at the just concluded ward congresses. We were given a mandate by the national secretariat to conduct a free and fair election, which we have done. It was successful. There is no way we can declare those who did not pass through the screening process as winners. These are copies of the election results.

“I take this opportunity to declare those who purchased the form, were screened and elected as the new executives of the wards.”

The former Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Najeem Salam, has said that the failure of the National Ward Congress Committee to accept results from where consensus was not accepted, would endanger the unity and chances of the party in the coming elections, especially the 2022 Governorship Election.
