The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi State chapter, has issued a heartfelt appeal to members who engaged in ethnic agitations during the recent Kogi State Governorship election to return to the party.

The appeal, made by Alhaji Tijani Aruwa, the state Publicity Secretary, emphasizes the importance of rebuilding the PDP as the most structured and largest political party in the state.

In the statement, the PDP highlighted the necessity of uniting all opposition forces to effectively challenge the ruling party.

The party also extended an invitation to leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) across all 21 local governments, asserting that a united and strong opposition is crucial for displacing the ruling party. This, they believe, can only be achieved under the leadership of the PDP.

Additionally, the PDP advised those who left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the SDP to avoid returning to what they described as “their vomit.”

The party criticized the ruling APC as a cartel focused on personal interests, labeling its policies as anti-people. They attributed the current hardships faced by Kogi State citizens to the failed policies of the APC.

The PDP spokesperson also mentioned that arrangements are in place for a smooth reconciliation process with aggrieved members following the recent state congress.

The party is committed to avoiding any media confrontations that could hinder these reconciliation efforts, which are being led by Enemona Anyebe and his leadership team.

The PDP described its recent congress as free and fair, acknowledging that complaints are a natural part of the democratic process.

They urged aggrieved members to utilize internal mechanisms for resolving disputes, emphasizing that the people of Kogi State view the PDP as the only viable alternative to rescue the state.
