Following the killing of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agent Mr Ozoemena Nkwuda, by suspected political thugs in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi, during the presidential and National Assembly election, the PDP governorship candidate Chief Ifeanyi-chukwuma Odii, has condemned the rise of incessant killings in the State.
The PDP gubernatorial candidate stated this when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the slain Nkwuda, in their country home in the company of other party Chieftains.
Recall that the father of three(3), was murdered by suspected political thugs in Ndiogbu-Ndieze, Inyimagu, in Izzi on Feb. 25, the presidential and National Assembly polls were held.
Odii, represented by his running mate, Sen Igwe Nwagu, described the deceased as a man of peace and urged the family to be strong and uphold their late father’s principles of peace and love.
“We come here to pay our late member, the respect he deserved, and to sympathise with the family he left behind.
“It a pity that a young man of his age would just die and leave his family with three kids. We are worried because he is a brother, Ebonyi man, party member and a good fellow.
“I urge the family to take heart and may the Almighty God give them the ability, capacity, strength, and grace to withstand this loss,” he said.
Also, the Senator Representing Ebonyi North Sen. Sam Egwu, in his part, urged the family to take heart and prayed God to accept his soul.
“We have come to sympathise with the family, and we believe those involved in this killing will be brought to book,” Egwu said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Igwe Edeze, Director-General, PDP campaign council in Ebonyi, who led the party delegation to Nwkuda’s family, condemned the heinous crime.
Receiving the delegations, Mr Anthony Nkwuda, the deceased’s elder brother, thanked the PDP team for showing respect to his late younger brother.
“Just as everyone had said, my brother was a good man. He never cared so much about political differences. On behalf of our family, I thank you all for the visit,” the senior Nkwuda stated.
