The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) UK chapter has expressed loss of confidence in the actions of acting national chairman, Iliya Damagum and national secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
In a statement signed by the president of the chapter, Dr Anita Jackson, the group demanded the immediate expulsion of Damagum and Anyanwu from the party.
The statement called on the party’s leadership to take immediate and decisive action against the duo, saying they are a “festering wound” on the PDP.
“We demand that Damagum and Anyanwu be expelled from the party forthwith. Their presence is a festering wound on the PDP, and their continued involvement will only lead to further damage and destruction.
“Their interference in legal matters, their plots to derail the party’s progress, and their blatant disregard for the party’s constitution are all evidence of their treasonous intentions.
“The actions of both men are a slap in the face to the millions of loyal members who have worked tirelessly to build the PDP into a formidable force in Nigerian politics.”
The group promised to fight for the soul of the party and restore it to its former glory, saying they will not forget the sacrifices of PDP’s founding fathers.
Jackson added: “We call on the party’s leadership to take immediate and decisive action against the duo.
“Expel them and let them join their true allies in the APC. The PDP does not need Damagum and Anyanwu. We need members who will work tirelessly to build a better future for Nigeria.
“Their actions are a wake-up call to all loyal members of the PDP. We must rise up and reclaim our party. We must stand strong and united. We will not be silenced, and we will not be defeated. We will fight for the soul of our party, and we will emerge victorious.
“We will not forget the sacrifices of our founding fathers, who worked tirelessly to build this party. We will not let their legacy be destroyed. We will fight to restore the PDP to its former glory, and we will ensure that those who seek to destroy us are brought to justice.
“We call on all loyal members of the PDP to join us in this fight. Let us stand together and reclaim our party. Let us show them that we will not be silenced, and we will not be defeated. We are the PDP, and we will emerge victorious.”
