The Director General of the National Pension Commission Aisha Dahir Umar has restated her commitment to the Micro-Pension plan which enhances the well-being of members of the nation’s informal Sector.

 

The DG made this known while delivering goodwill remarks at the 4th Quarter Pension Seminar in Agura Hotel, Abuja, organized by the Conference of Civil Society of Nigeria.

 

Represented by Mrs. Obiageli Augusta of the Commission’s Micro-Pension Department, the DG pledeged the Commission’s commitment to collaborate with the Civil Society in boosting the Micro-Pension Plan for greater enrollment into the Contributory Pension Scheme, CPS. She disclosed that the Commission has set a Target of enrolling over 40million citizens within the next few years.

 

She maintained that the Commission’s doors are opened to Civil Societies for collaboration and any complaints against erring Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) or other stakeholders. She commended the organizers for putting such a lofty Seminar together.

While delivering his Remarks, the Inspector General of Police who was represented by DCP Olufunke lauded the concept of the Micro-Pension Scheme as well as the 4th Quarter Seminar, and called on members of the Informal Sector to participate, as the overall objective of such schemes would mitigate the menace of insecurity in Nigeria.

 

Also, the Corps Marshall of the Federal Road Safety Corps ably represented by a DCC Abdussamad, reiterated willingness to support the Civil Society in driving the Advocacy.

 

The Seminar massive turnout from members of the Civil Society, informal Sector, PenCom, NAICOM, FRSC, NPF and others. It is the last in the series for the year 2022
