A leading end-to-end digital infrastructure and technology service provider, Phase 3, has launched multiple expansion projects targeted at transforming West Africa’s telecommunications landscape.
The company said it is using innovative technology as well as the development of secure high-performance network communications and solutions as leverage to effectively connect people, businesses, and networks within the sub-region and to the rest of the world.
The Executive Chairman of Phase3 and its sister learning institutions, Springhall British and Cradle to Crayon, Mr. Stanley Jegede, spoke in Abuja during the celebration of the end of the business year 2023 and annual thanksgiving in the company of clients, industry stakeholders, partners, and staff of Phase3 and sister establishments. The event also marked the 20th anniversary of the company.
Phase3 Telecom, Africa’s leading independent aerial fibre optic network infrastructure and telecommunications services provider, was incorporated in 2003 and was licenced as a national long-distance operator to provide transmission services in 2006.
Jegede said the event was a showcase of the company’s journey, growth, and expansion trajectory from 2003 when it was a fledgling company of less than ten personnel, to a diversified entity with widespread capabilities and network reach extending beyond the shores of Nigeria to other countries through established points of presence serving multiple locations and a robust global partnership portfolio.
He said he was continually humbled by the gift of an incredible team behind the milestone-driven operational graph of the establishments.
He expressed the unwavering commitment of Phase 3 to maintain values, processes, constant innovation, and the knowledge growth of its dynamic team to optimise its service solutions and sustain a global standard service delivery architecture for clients, partners, and stakeholders on and beyond the continent.
According to him, in Phase 3, attaining 20 years in business, “the journey has been one suffused with many inspiring achievements and learning curves. Today, as a National Long Distance Operator (NLDO) licenced by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the company has the immense capability to provide multilayer telecommunication services in Nigeria to all players in the TMT industry, other corporate organisations, institutions, and residences using fibre-optic technology, which has made it a foremost carrier’s carrier with more than 400 projects delivered to date.
“Phase 3 remains relentless in its pursuits as it continues to expand the scope of its offerings and capabilities beyond the shores of Nigeria through invaluable global partnerships and regional business play, based on its strategic intent to boost accessibility and foster regional integration via its network,” he said.
Jegede said: “If anything, Phase 3’s 20th year and role in Nigeria and Africa’s telecommunications cum technology space have become even more mission-critical riding on a future-proof network mindset—one where, more than ever before, there is an exponential demand for high-performance, secure, and scalable networks like Phase 3 with diverse routes for the efficient and consistent delivery of bandwidth-hungry content as well as comprehensive next-generation services in the OTT, cloud, and cyber security spaces—that assure both meaningful and safe connections for businesses and customers across varied market demographics.”.
He revealed that Phase 3 has embarked on a termed expansion project to invest in increasing its aerial and terrestrial fibre network footprint in Nigeria, and in the coming months and years, Phase 3 will leverage its capabilities as well as innovative fabric to further amplify opportunities in financial, education, healthcare, commerce, agriculture, and other sectors of the economy.
According to him, the company, with recent licence acquisitions such as a provisional Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) licence, has also proven its commitment and will continue to deepen its cross-sector play with exponential investments targeted at enhanced technology infrastructure and multi-layer value chain integration in the industry.
