The Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV) will on Saturday, June 1, hold an anti-cultism, anti-drug event for teenagers in Lagos State.

According to a statement by the POCACOV Central Planning Committee, the event, tagged: ‘Teenagers Stay Informed: Know the Dangers of Cultism and Drugs,’ will hold at the Police College, Ikeja.

The National Coordinator of POCACOV, a crime-preventive unit, is CSP Olabisi Okuwobi.

Convener of the event is the Inspector General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun.

Among the artistes expected at the event are Papa Ajasco, Donleo, Starry Meji, and Tella Michael, while the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal is the royal father of the day.

The event will also feature lectures, quiz, debates, sports, fashion parades, singing and dancing competitions, among others.

POCACOV had on Thursday collaborated with Eagle Crime Awareness & Prevention Initiative (ECAPI) to launch “Building Youth Resilience Against Crime Towards A Safer Nigeria” campaign.

The event took place at Isheri Roundabout in Alimosho Local Government Area, drawing participation from various sectors of society, including security officials, royal and religious leaders, political figures, civil servants, students, artisans, and members of the community.

The programme commenced with an awareness road walk, led by the South-West POCACOV Chairman, Ambassador Samuel Eniola Adam.

Members of POCACOV, ECAPI, and invited guests joined the walk, accompanied by a musical band, creating a festive atmosphere as they raised awareness for the campaign.

The event saw the attendance of Divisional Police Officers within the Alimosho council area and their subordinates, alongside traditional leaders.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Adegoke Fayoade, was represented by Area ‘M’ Commander, ACP Ajigbe Olayinka.

Prominent religious figures, including Pastor J.T. Kalejaiye and the Chief Imam of Isheri-Olofin Kingdom, provided spiritual guidance and motivational words to the youth present.
