Nationnewslead reports that Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested 10 suspected cultists in Ogijo, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects were reported to have used different weapons to dispossess residents of their belongings.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this on Thursday in a statement.
Oyeyemi identified the suspects, who were arrested last Friday, to include Moses Johnson, Chinedu Okechukwu, Oka James, Mathew John, Moses David and Fuhad Sulaimon.
Others are Joseph Emmanuel, Stephen Samuel, Ozon Austin and Ope Taiwo.
He said a resident, Olaojo Emmanuel, lodged a complaint against the men after he and his wife were attacked by the gang on Thursday around 9.30pm.
The gang allegedly dispossessed the couple of an Iphone 7, valued at N130,000 at gunpoint.
According to the PPRO, Emmanuel claimed to have sighted some of the hoodlums in the Ita Oluwo area of Ogijo.
“On the strength of his report, the DPO, Ogijo division, CSP Muhammed Baba, mobilised his men and moved to the scene, where 10 of the hoodlums were apprehended.
“The complainant and other victims of their atrocities have identified them,” the PPRO added.
Oyeyemi said the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, had ordered the transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
