The Osun State Police Command has arrested four suspected cultists for attempting to murder one Samuel Friday in Iree, Boripe Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Gbadamosi (Gbedu), Ibiyemi Saheed (Mouth), Ayandiya Yusuf (Lakaye), and Ogunwole Najeem (Agali), are reportedly members of an unlawful group known as the Action Boxing Training Club (ABTC).

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, the suspects were apprehended on January 5, 2025, around 12:30 a.m. at their hideouts by the Anti-Cultism Unit.

While parading the suspects alongside other criminals apprehended for other unholy acts in the state on Wednesday, the Command Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola told newsmen that, “On 5th January, 2025 at about 00:30am, the above named notorious hoodlums suspected to be members of unlawful society also known as ABTC (Action Boxing Training Club) were arrested at their hideouts by the Police Detectives from Anti-Cultism.”

“During the course of the investigation, it’s discovered that, on 12th November, 2024 the above-named suspects made attempt to murder one Samuel Friday ‘m’ of Iree town. Also, on 17th December, 2024 at about 10:00am, the above first suspect and others now at large invaded the premises of Osun State Polytechnic Iree and attacked some staff including the School Public Relations Officer and blocked the main entrance school gate”.

“Similarly, the same first suspect, at about 8:30pm, dangerously drove a Toyota Camry with Reg. No. ABC 962 TD Abuja and killed one Mrs Toyin Adetunji ‘f’ about 46yrs old and ran away before he was arrested with his gan. Exhibits recovered from them are: some criminal charms and some dry weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa. Suspects will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.”

The police spokesperson while also parading another two suspects, Adebayo Adesanya and Olansile Abdullateef, both of Oba Akarigbo Area, Sagamu Ogun State for case of conspiracy and stealing said,”On 10th January, 2025 at about 8:30pm, upon distress call received that, two young men entered into his boutique shop at Agip Area of Ede bought different type of clothes worth one hundred and sixty thousand naira (N160,000:00k) and made fake transfer to the complainant through an Opay ATM card.”

“On receipt of the report, Policemen swung into action and two suspects namely: Adebayo Adesanya and Olansile Abdullateef, both of Oba Akarigbo Area, Sagamu Ogun State. During interrogation, they confessed to have acquired the items recovered from their car by deceiving their victims with fake transfers through Opay ATM cards. Suspects will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.

They were however arrested together with exhibits of one Toyota Venza with registration number, Lagos BDG 710 H, four bags of foreign rice, twelve tubers of yam, a bunch of bananas, three different Opay ATM cards and some local charms.

She hinted further that, “On 6th January, 2025 at about 2:00pm, a complainant was in her room preparing to go to shop when she heard the noise of her five-year-old daughter.”

“When she rushed out, the complainant saw blood coming out of her daughter’s private part. She questioned her daughter and discovered that it was one, Aderibigbe Amos who dipped his finger into the victim’s private part.”

“The victim was taken to the Police Medical Centre, Osogbo for assessment and treatment. The suspect was arrested and charged to Court and is presently remanded at Ilesa Correctional Centre, Ilesa, Osun State”, she submitted.
