Adamawa State Police Command has arrested Yahaya Balarabe, 25, for stabbing his friend, Usman, to death and robbing him of his motorcycle and N20,000.
The suspect, a resident of Dage Village, Ganye Local Government Area, had accompanied the victim to his farm, where he attacked and killed him with a sharp cutlass, throwing his body into a gutter.
Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje disclosed that the suspect was apprehended following a report from the deceased’s family members and the recovery of material evidence linked to him.
The suspect confessed to the crime, stating that he was only interested in taking possession of the deceased’s motorcycle and money.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, commended the operatives for detecting and arresting the suspect, ensuring he faces justice.
The CP directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to take over the investigation and ensure the law takes its course.
He also urged citizens to report suspicious individuals to the police to help tackle criminal activities in the state.
