Police arrest suspected criminals has arrested some suspected thieves who were said to have stolen wall fans in a Jumma’at Mosque at Dushen Kura/Kwasau area of Limawa Ward B, in Chanchaga Local Government Area of the State.
This was contained in a statement issued and made available to Journalists in Minna by the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun over the weekend,
The suspected thieves were reportedly arrested with two sacks containing seven wall fans, while the suspects allegedly confessed during interrogation to have stolen the items in a Jumma’at Mosque.
The suspects were identified as: Mohammed Auwal Abdulsamiu 24yrs, Abdulraheem Abdulsamiu 16 years and Abdullahi Usman 17yrs all of Dutsen Kura Gwari area and were known as notorious burglars in the community by the residents who specializes in breaking into homes and places of worship.
According to the statement, the suspects have been arraigned in Court and charged for prosecution.
In a related case a 22-year-old man has been arrested by the police in Niger State for chopping off the hands of a commercial motorcycle operator he boarded to a certain village.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, attached to the State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the suspect, Usman Maniya of Gbete village in Mokwa local government area of the state, was said to have boarded a commercial motorcycle and before reaching his destination, attacked the commercial motorcycle Operator with a cutlass, severed the victim’s right hand and forcefully snatched the unregistered Bajaj motorcycle valued at about N700,000.
The Image Maker of the State Police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun stated further that the suspect was arrested by the Police operatives attached to Kudu outstation, in Mokwa Division of the state based on credible Intelligence received from the community.
He noted that the exhibits, namely the cutlass and the stolen motorcycle were recovered from the suspect, adding that the victim was rushed to General Hospital in Mokwa for Medical treatment.
