A three-man gang of suspected criminals have been arrested by the Police in Niger for allegedly rustling 132 rams in the Mashegu Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects were identified as one Mohammed Abdullahi Chumo, 30years , of Ukoro in ,Kwara State, one Aliyu Salihu, 20years of Gwadabawa, in Sokoto State and one Arzika Ahmadu, 25years old also of Gwadabawa, in Sokoto State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun confirmed their arrests, noting that the suspects allegedly confessed to the crime during interrogation by the police investigative officers.
Abiodun stated further that the suspects conspired and rustled 132 rams from two victims who were grazing the rams around Manigi area of Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.
According to the image maker, “fortunately, on 14th March, 2024, one of the victims sighted a member of the gang, Chumo, at Zungeru Market, in Wushishi LGA of the State, with six of the rams in an attempt to sell them. Thereafter, that victim raised an alarm in the process.

Abiodun further disclosed that immediately the suspect was arrested and led the police team to Jimi village where other rams were kept, adding that othe members of the gand, Aliyu and Arzika were subsequently arrested.
He stated further that the he suspects have been transferred to the crack squad init of the State Police Command for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
He stated further that the rams have been released to the rightful owners.
