A total of 76 officers of the Yobe State Police Command have been promoted and decorated with their respective new ranks.
The promotion is a part of efforts to strengthen its personnel’s working capabilities and invigorate them to give their best in the performance of their responsibilities of protecting lives and properties as well as maintaining law and order.
The 76 personnel of the Yobe State Police Command who benefited from promotions are spread across three categories: from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police (SP) and Superintendent to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).
The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, on Monday, decorated the promoted officers with their new ranks amidst a large crowd of well-wishers, loved ones, and government functionaries.
In his remarks, Garba Ahmed expressed his appreciation for the gathering and called on the promoted officers to remain resolute and steadfast in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.
He emphasised the importance of upholding professionalism and respecting human rights.
The Commissioner of Police also thanked the invited guests, families, and friends, while assuring his unwavering commitment to ensuring the security and safety of all residents in Yobe State.
Some of the promoted Officers commended the IGP, Olukayode Egbetokun and the Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of the promotion which they said is a morale booster for them.
They therefore rededicated their loyalty to the Nigerian Police Force assuring that they will be professional and diligent as they go about their professional duties at their various posts.
One of the beneficiaries of the promotion is SP Dungus Abdulkarim, Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Police Command, Damaturu who who was formerly DSP.
