A Police escort attached to the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) slumped and died on duty while escorting the Abuja-Kaduna train from Rigasa (Kaduna state).
Information reaching Tribune Online shows that the police escort whose identity is yet to be disclosed did not show any sign of illness when the journey commenced.
An official of the Abuja-Kaduna train service who spoke to our correspondent under the condition of anonymity confirmed the death of the police escort.

“They just shared the report of his death with me, but I am yet to receive the comprehensive report.
“The information about his death was shared on one of our official platforms and when I made an inquiry about it, I was asked to await a comprehensive report to ascertain what actually happened.
“I learnt that they left Rigasa and while approaching Abuja, he slumped and died. I think he is a Mobile Police personnel”.
Further investigation reveals that the remains of the police escort have been deposited in a morgue.
As of the time of filling this report, NRC and the Ministry of Transportation are yet to respond to the incident.
