In preparation for tomorrow’s Local Government Council Elections, the Bauchi State Police Command has implemented thorough security measures to ensure the safety of all citizens at the 5,013 polling units across the state.

The aim is to provide a fair environment for all political parties during the election process.

In collaboration with other security agencies, the Command has deployed a significant number of personnel strategically across key locations in the state.

To prevent any disruptions during the election and maintain public order, vehicular movement will be restricted from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, with exemptions for essential services such as medical personnel, journalists, and emergency responders.

While the Command empathizes with the inconvenience these measures may cause, it urges all eligible voters to abide by the law and participate in the election without fear or intimidation.

The Command also emphasizes that decisive action will be taken against any individuals or groups attempting to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the election.

Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, called on parents, traditional rulers, religious leaders, opinion leaders, and guardians to encourage their wards and subjects not to be used for disturbances before, during, or after the election.

The Command has clearly warned all criminal elements in the state to desist from any activities that threaten the safety and security of the state, as law enforcement agencies will not hesitate to confront and neutralize violators in accordance with the law.

The Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and urges the public to fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station, as stated by SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the Police Public Relations Officer.
