The police in Lagos State have recovered a total of one thousand and forty wraps of Indian Hemp in the Alaba area of the state
A 43-year-old man Nwagha Obiefule has been arrested in connection with the recovered illicit drugs.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the recovery of the illicit drugs to the Tribune Online.
The image maker also confirmed that a man was also arrested in connection with the recovery.
Hundeyin said “On 17/04/2024 at about 04 30 hours, while on early morning patrol around Ajangbadi, detectives of tactical squad, Ijanikin trailer one white Mercedes Benz mini truck to Ilufe Waterside Jetty in the Alaba area of the state.
“It was discovered that a large quantity of substance, suspected to be Indian Hemp in sacks were being offloaded from a flying boat at the waterside jetty in Alaba International.”
The police image maker added that ” One Obiefuke Nwagha, aged 43 was arrested at the waterside jetty.
“He was alleged to be the driver of the white Mercedes Benz mini truck and a total of one thousand and forth wraps of substance, suspected to be Indian Hemp in thirteen sacks were recovered from the suspects.
“The suspect alleged that one Ifeanyi contacted him to convey the substance from Waterside jetty to Alaba International Market.”
Hundeyin stated that an investigation had commenced and that efforts were on to arrest the said Ifeanyi.
