Niger State Police Command has announced the recovery of a suspected stolen Toyota Hilux vehicle with registration Number: RBC 168 TJ after it was allegedly abandoned by the roadside along Maje- Dikko road area of the State.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Niger State Police Command SP Wasiu Abiodun stated this in a press statement issued and made available to Journalists on Tuesday in Minna.

The statement noted; “On November 22nd, 2024 at about 1500hrs, information was received that a Toyota Hilux vehicle with Reg. No. RBC 168 TJ white colour was seen abandoned by the road along Maje-Dikko road”.

The statement further highlighted that thereafter, Police operatives attached to Maje Division of the State Police Command moved to the scene, and recovered the vehicle to the Div.

The statement further disclosed; “The vehicle was searched and there was no single document there-in”.

The PPRO, however, assured that Investigation is in progress at Maje Div emphasising that possible owner may come forward with necessary documents of ownership to the State Police Command Headquarters in Dutshen Kura Hausa Minna the state capital.

In another development, the statement said On November 20th, 2024 at about 1730hrs, the Police operation flush patrol team while on a routine stop and search at Imrat junction, Bosso intercepted a tricycle conveying five passengers from Sabon-Daga to Beji, in Bosso LGA.

It stated further that when searched, one of the passengers named Mohammed Usman of Beji was said to have been found in possession of a locally made revolver pistol with four 9mm live ammunition.

According to the PPRO, “During interrogation, the suspect allegedly claimed that he bought the pistol from a friend, identified as Abubakar( other names withheld ) who had relocated to Nasarawa State, and said he bought it for personal security.

SP Wasiu Abiodun however assured that the suspect is in custody, while investigation is in progress at SCID Minna.
