Police have vowed to repel any invasion by bandits who reportedly threatened to invade and kill residents of the Ofatedo community, Osun State if they fail to pay them N20 million.
Nationnewslead reports that bandits had dropped three handwritten letters at strategic locations around Olofa way, Ofatedo in Egbedore Local Government Area threatening that they are coming into the community to kill residents unless a sum of N20 million was paid.
The bandits also threatened to kill any security operatives that might try to confront them.
A statement by the Police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, on Friday, read, “Concerning the Offatedo’s community threat by the criminals to invade their community, people should not entertain any fear. We are fully prepared for them.”
