Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has praised President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style, describing it as “rare” and “large-hearted” following the appointment of Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser on Public Communications and Media.

This move showcases Tinubu’s commitment to inclusiveness and magnanimity, considering Bwala’s past criticisms of the President and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I wish to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Daniel Bwala as his Special Adviser on Public Communication and Media. This gesture deserves serious applause, especially considering the roles Bwala has played in the recent past,” Ndume said.

Ndume, representing Borno South – Bwala’s home state – urged Bwala to work closely with Vice President Kashim Shettima and other colleagues to advance President Tinubu’s policies and programmes.

“I urge you to work closely with him (Vice President Shettima), as your second principal, to promote the renewed hope agenda of Mr. President,” Ndume said.

He also advised Bwala to emulate loyal associates of President Tinubu, such as Sunday Dare and Onanuga, who defend the President’s policies without resorting to abuse or offensive language.

“You should also learn from the likes of Hadiza Bala and Nuhu Ribadu, who defend and market Tinubu’s policies with facts and figures,” Ndume added.

Bwala’s appointment has sparked interest, given his previous role as spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 presidential election campaigns.

Ndume, who represents Borno South—Bwala’s home state—described the President as a leader with a “large heart” and a deep interest in the overall benefit of Nigeria. He urged Bwala to work with his colleagues to advance President Tinubu’s policies and programs.

Bwala, who previously served as the spokesperson for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 presidential election campaigns, had made several critical remarks about Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) while promoting his former principal.
