Nigerian singer Portable has stirred up debate with his comments on Afrobeats legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s untimely death.
In a recent podcast with Quincy Jonze on ‘Echoo Room’, Portable suggested Fela’s early demise was due to his involvement in fighting for Nigerians who didn’t reciprocate.
“According to what we were told, if Fela had minded his business a little he would have lived longer. But he was busy fighting for Nigerians wey no fight for their selves,” he stated.
Portable also addressed his online feud with rapper Zlatan Ibile, labeling him “the devil” who caused tension between him and Davido.
Fela Anikulapo-Kuti was a renowned activist and musician who fought against social injustice.
Portable, on the other hand, has been known for his controversial statements and online feuds.
