In a collaborative effort, Alayeluwa Oba Dr. Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, the Owaloko of Iloko Ijesa, alongside the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), distributed relief materials to residents affected by a devastating rainstorm that struck in March this year.

During the event, the Owaloko expressed his gratitude to the management teams of SEMA and NEMA for their prompt response to the community’s plight. He commended their swift action in providing much-needed assistance to those whose goods and properties were damaged by the storm.

Oba Ogungbangbe also extended his appreciation to the Osun State government, led by Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for empowering SEMA to effectively carry out their duties in times of crisis.

In their address, the management of SEMA and NEMA sympathized with the residents of Iloko Ijesa, acknowledging that while the relief materials could not fully compensate for the losses incurred, they hoped the aid would provide some level of comfort and support. They reassured the community of their commitment to continued assistance wherever possible.

The Owaloko also praised the efforts of the Commissioner for Cooperative and Empowerment for his unwavering support and constant communication with both NEMA and SEMA, ensuring efficient coordination during the relief efforts.

Special recognition was given to the relief materials committee, led by High Chief Mrs. Oni Christianah Moradeyo, the Yeye Dofin of Iloko Ijesa. The Owaloko thanked her and the other team members, as well as the High Chiefs and Chiefs who were present during the distribution at the Owaloko Palace.

The collaborative initiative underscores the commitment of local and state agencies in providing timely aid and support to communities in distress, reinforcing the spirit of resilience and unity in Iloko Ijesa.
