The Adamawa College of Education in Hong, shut as a result of a destructive demonstration by students last year, has released resumption timetable.

The College has also announced a levy of N4,500 per student as damages for the destruction caused to school structures.

A multimedia centre and some other structures of the College were affected when the students had gone on demonstration late last year.

A notice from the Office of Registrar of the College to the students, obtained by our correspondent Wednesday morning, showed that NCE III students are to resume on Thursday, February 24, and to continue the examination that was put on hold, on Tuesday, March 1.

The notice, signed by the Registrar, Alhaji Shuaibu Ahiwa, directed NCE II students to resume on March 7 and to continue their examination on March 9, while NCE I and Pre-NCE students will resume on March 14 and continue their examination on March 16.

“All students are to pay N4,500 for damages caused during the demonstration,” the notice from the Registrar said.

The said demonstration occurred on November 29, 2021, following which the College was promptly shut down and students asked to leave the campus.

The Registrar warned that no student would be allowed to sit the re-scheduled examination without evidence of having paid the levied N4,500 into an indicated bank account.

Students are also required by the notice to write an undertaking to abide by all the rules and regulations of the College. Continue Reading
