The Ajemba Council, led by HRM OBA Adewale Oluwabukunmi Sunday Adeleke (B.A, Hons) Alowolodu II, has issued a rallying call to the sons and daughters, friends, and well-wishers of Ijemba to unite in constructing a new and prestigious palace, set to become one of the finest in Ijemba’s rich history. The proclamation was made during a joint assembly of the Ajemba Council and the Ijemba Elders Forum on Saturday, May 4th.
Barrister Boye William, spokesperson for the council, revealed that the resolution of the meeting mandates a two-month timeline for the construction of the palace. Each family in Ijemba Jesa is tasked with contributing one million naira, while the ruling house of OBA Adewale/Longe pledges 1.5 million naira towards the project.
Under the guidance of Asiwaju of Ijemba Kingdom, Barrister Ogini, and a team including Barrister Boye Williams, Mr. Adebayo Seun Zachou, High Chief Risa of Ijemba Kingdom, and Otun Asiwaju of Ijemba Kingdom, CP Oki (RTD), the Ajemba Palace project will be meticulously supervised.
In a statement, His Royal Majesty Oba Adewale heralded the dawn of a new era in Ijemba, urging all stakeholders, including individuals and clubs at home and abroad, to generously contribute towards the endeavor. He expressed confidence that with unity and divine providence, the goal would be achieved. Oba Adewale also announced that the foundation-laying ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 18th, 2024, in Ijemba. The ceremony will be graced by significant figures, including the Lord Bishop of Ilesa Anglican Diocese, Yeye Oba Olori Mary Adewale, and the Asiwaju of Ijemba Kingdom, who will each lay a symbolic block. The monarch emphasized that history will remember all who champion this new chapter of development in Ijemba Jesa.
