Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on his 60th birthday, describing him as a committed public servant and a seasoned administrator.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, praising Egbetokun’s commitment and dedication to public service as a vibrant, trustworthy, and diligent police officer.
According to the governor, Egbetokun is a seasoned administrator who has used his knowledge and experience to bring about positive developments in the Nigeria Police since taking over as IGP.
He noted that Egbetokun has dedicated his entire life to serving his country as a principled police officer, holding various positions, particularly in Lagos State, “where he served passionately as the Chief Security Officer to former Governor Bola Tinubu and Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).”

“The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, is a committed and dedicated public servant. He has demonstrated a high degree of dedication and professionalism in public service, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the Nigeria Police.
“IGP Egbetokun has devoted his life to serving his country as a principled police officer, serving in various capacities, particularly in Lagos State, where he served passionately as the Chief Security Officer to former Governor Bola Tinubu and Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS),” Sanwo-Olu stated.
The governor, while congratulating the police chief, prayed that God Almighty continues to grant him wisdom for continued service to humanity, the police, and Nigeria.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Lagos State, I congratulate the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, on his 60th birthday. I pray that Almighty God continues to bestow wisdom upon him for continued service to humanity, the police, and Nigeria,” he prayed.
