SCIT Retreat: Be Professional in discharging your duties – FEDPOFFA Rector urges Staff

The Federal Polytechnic Offa Rector, Dr. Lateef Olatunji has called on staff of the institution to be professional in their field while discharging their duties.

He added that the staff should work towards leaving a good legacy.

Dr. Olatunji made the call during the opening speech of a retreat tagged, Multi Disciplinary Retreat On Work Ethics and Staff Enhancement

The retreat was organized by the newly elected DEAN of SCIT, Dr. Kemi Ogungbamigbe, for staff in the faculty.

Dr Olatunji also commended Dr. Ogungbamigbe for organizing such retreat which shows a good start of her administration which is also necessary for the staff to know certain things about their duties

 

 

The Deputy Rector Adminstration, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi while addressing staff of the School of Communication advised that the staff should work for the institution and not for the personality.

“The system cannot progress if the members of the institution are working for the personality only,” he said.

Dr. Olarongbe stated that such act is not encouraged and should desist if any member is practicing such.

He then urged the staff of the faculty to give the Dean a solid support in other to have a successful administration.

 

 

Dr. Ogungbamigbe while giving her address stated that the need to organize the retreat is to ensure that all the staff are aware about their duties and the way to discharge the duties.

She also implored on the staff that they work in unity so as to achieve a great feat during her tenure.

 

 

Dr Ogungbamigbe then appreciated the staff for giving her the mandate to become the DEAN of the faculty.

The Directorate of Anti-corruption and transparency unit, Mr Arinde Anthony has urged staff to be transparent and should not be involved in extortion and corruption as big consequences awaits defaulters of such.

Various speakers reiterated that the staff should be loyal, accountable and trustworthy in discharging their duties.

Other distinguished speakers include, Dean DSA, Engr. Waheed Balogun, Directorate of Exam, Mr Tunde Lawal, Immediate Past Dean, Mrs Aliu, Directorate Research and Innovation, Dr Grace Korter, Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance, Chief Adebayo Kolawole, Director ASUP, Mr Ayinde among others.
