Nationnewslead reports that In order to beef-up security and ease the stress of security officers on patrol, Management of the Federal Polytechnic Offa led by Dr. Lateef Olatunji has procured three (3) additional brand new Bajaj Motorcycles for the security unit on campuses.
The Rector, during the hand-over emphasized on the security challenges facing the country and the need for all stakeholders, non government organizations, corporate and individual to support the Federal Government in the fight against insecurity.
He further admonished the Security personnel on campuses to be vigilant and live up to expectation as Management will continue to provide necessary facilities to support the security operatives.
In his words,”It has become a responsibility for all of us to be security conscious as Government can not do it alone. The Management is concerned about security and welfare of both staff and students and that is why we have procured more motorcycles to make the patrol work easier and effective. The motorcycles procured should therefore serve its purpose and not for commercial activities.”
The Chief Security Officer of the Polytechnic, Mr. Moshood Ibrahim thanked the Management’s efforts to strengthen security formation on campuses and beseeched the Management not to relent in providing needed assistance in term of personnel and working tools.
While giving votes of thanks, the Registrar, Mr. Adetunji Oni assured the security unit of the institution of assiduous support and cooperation from Dr. Olatunji’s led Management. He asserted that the Management will further look into the areas that need attention and grant their requests as appropriate.
Principal Officer and Management Staff present during the hand- over were Deputy Rector Administration, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi, Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Gbenga Aleminu, Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocols, Mr. Olayinka Iroye, Director Physical Planning and Projects, Arc Fatai Olatinwo. Others include HOD Estate Management, Dr Atilola, Chairman SSANIP, Alh Taju Afolabi among many others.
