Guyuk was agog over the weekend as Senator Anthony Siyako Yaro, the Dumke Nunguraya, attended the Sinmilalama Lunguda annual cultural traditional festival.

The festival also marked a significant milestone – the 50th birthday and 5th year anniversary celebrations of HRH Sir (Dr) Kuruhaye Dishon Dan Sanda II, Kwandi Nunguraya on the throne.

The event was a resounding success, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Lunguda community.

The festival, held at the Dishon Dan Sanda Square in Guyuk, was a vibrant celebration of the Lunguda culture, showcasing the rich traditions and heritage of the community.

Senator Anthony’s attendance demonstrated his commitment to supporting and promoting cultural diversity and community development. His presence was a testament to his dedication and passion for preserving cultural heritage.

Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Executive Governor of Adamawa State, was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Edgar Amos, who delivered a keynote address highlighting the importance of cultural preservation and community development.

The Governor’s representative emphasized the need for continued support and promotion of cultural heritage, and encouraged the community to continue working together to preserve their traditions.

Chief Hon. Jerry Joseph Damara (Thimbleuweh Nunguraya), CEO of Kugbo International Market, FCT, Abuja, chaired the occasion with grace and poise.

His leadership and guidance ensured a successful and memorable event, and his contributions to the community were recognized and appreciated.

In a generous gesture, Chief Hon Jerry Joseph Damara donated the sum of $10,000 to support the event, demonstrating his commitment to the community’s well-being.

The festival featured a range of activities, including traditional dances, music performances, and cultural displays.

The event was attended by a diverse group of people, including community leaders, 19 traditional rulers, and members of the public as the atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of community, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
