Princess Abiodun Oyefusi, the Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos State, has called on Christians in the state to imbibe the spirit of love and selflessness as they celebrate Easter.
In a statement released on Saturday, Oyefusi urged Christians to emulate the exceptional love Jesus Christ exhibited by dying on the Cross for the redemption of mankind.

Oyefusi, who is also a Labour Party Chieftain, emphasized the need for Christians to positively impact the lives of others, especially the less privileged in society.
She enjoined them to be conscious of what the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ signify and shun selfishness of any form.
The daughter of the Late Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom called on Christians to eschew hatred and embrace love, adding that Nigeria needs prayers for its democracy to thrive and the country to claim its rightful position in the comity of nations.
In her words, “I would like to urge Christian residents in the state to show love to one another, bearing in mind that Jesus died on the Cross because of the exceptional love he had for humans.
It is also important for you to positively touch the lives of others, especially the less privileged in society.
Christians should be conscious of what the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ signify and shun selfishness of any form.
And please avoid hatred as demonstrated by Jesus who died on the cross for the redemption of mankind. Very important it is to pray for the nation and its democracy so as to see Nigeria claim its rightful position in the comity of nations of the world.
I wish Lagosians and all lovers of peace and progress a hitch-free Easter celebration.”
