Following the reports that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Tuesday gave telecos in the country two weeks to block subscriber identity module (SIM) cards that are not registered with the National Identity Numbers (NIN) usually issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), NNL has given out quick tip in how to check if yours has NIN linked.

Dial *346# – The service costs N20 per dial.
From the options displayed, select “NIN Retrieval”, by typing in ‘1’, if you are using the same phone number you enrolled with for your NIN.
Follow the steps displayed on your screen and provide the required inputs.
