Fire has razed down six shops and valuables in them on Friday at Gadar Kogi in the Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Adamu Shehu, the spokesperson for the state’s National Security and Civil Defense Corps, disclosed that the corp’s divisional office received a distress call around some minutes after 1pm after which disaster response officers rushed a the scene to put out the fire and saved unburnt items from getting destroyed.
City Round gathered that the six shops belonging to one Usman Mai Shago and five others were burnt to ashes, while valuables worth millions got destroyed.

Though no life was lost, the incident was revealed to have been caused by an electric spark from one of the shops’ wiring.
Adamu simply said, “On Friday, December 2, 2022, at about 01:15hrs, the NSCDC Divisional Office received an emergency call on a fire outbreak at Gadar Kogi in Hadejia.”
