In its effort to end banditry in Tureta Local Government Area and other adjoining villages, the Sokoto State Government has approved the construction of the Tureta-Gidan Kare road to make bandits’ dens more accessible to security forces.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu shared this information during his visit to Tureta Local Government on Monday, as part of his statewide tour across the 23 local governments of the state.
According to the governor, the road, once completed, will provide security agencies with easy access to the bush areas that serve as hideouts for bandits in the region.
“As a government, we are committed to providing all that is necessary to make our local communities safe, devoid of any security challenges,” Governor Aliyu stated.
“Be rest assured that we will spend our last kobo to guarantee the safety of the lives and property of our people. We are always touched by the heinous acts of banditry in our dear state, and we are taking more measures to end the menace, Insha Allah,” he vowed.
The governor called for continued support and fervent prayers from the local communities to help achieve these goals.
In addition, Governor Aliyu promised to construct feeder roads, implement water projects, renovate the Jumuat Mosque, and install 250 solar-powered street lights in the area.
During his tour, the governor also visited Dange Shuni, Bodinga, and Silame local government areas. In these areas, he announced the awarding of several projects, including the construction of feeder roads, the installation of solar-powered street lights, water works, and the renovation of Jumuat Mosques and health facilities.

Other speakers at the events, including former Minister of Police Affairs Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, Aliyu Abubakar Tureta, Aminu Magaji Bodai, and Umaru Katami, also commended the current administration’s efforts to provide the much-needed dividends of democracy across the state.
