The outgoing chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State, Bello Goronyo, has attacked the current All Progressive Congress (APC), led administration in the state as bringing ridicule to the state.
Goronyo while speaking in his address during the state congress of the party, held at the party secretariat on Saturday.
He said during the PDP leadership in the state, the state was earning national and international recognition for progressive, credible governance, to the chaos that has currently befalling our state.
“When Sokoto is drawing the ridicule of the entire nation for ethical and moral scandals in government.
“The good people of Sokoto State, who are also witnesses to these realities, are waiting for the next opportunity to return the state to its days of glory under PDP.”
The Chairman further criticised the current administration in the state, saying the state government under the APC led administration in the state spends the funds of the state recklessly.
“It is under this administration that Billions of naira doesn’t have any meaning again, from Roundabout, to digging of borehole among others now in the state is now billion of naira.
“They continue to spend our resources recklessly without any any value for such expenses,” he said.
Bello further commend the leader of the party in the state and former Governor of the state, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, whom he said has proved to be the vehicle for the transformation of Sokoto State.
He said, “During the tenure of our party in government, the state has indeed witnessed a period of advancement in all sectors, a period of transparent, accountable and inclusive governance with healthy politics on the part of the PDP.”
Bello further said under his administration, the party was able to conduct a successful local government election and ward congress which he said was conducted in a peaceful, fair and transparent manner, with the support of all progressive members of the party.
He, however, expressed gratitude and appreciation to members of his executive council and other members of the party in the state for their commitment and unwavering support to the party.
