I am writing to call the attention of relevant authorities on the need to urgently look into the deplorable condition of roads in Itesiwaju community, off Odo Ona Elewe, Orita, New Garage, Ibadan; the roads especially Itesiwaju Street is in a terrible condition and continues to worsen by the day, resulting in frequent vehicle damages and accidents.
The numerous potholes, cracks, and lack of drainage, make driving hazardous, especially during rainy season when they are filled with water and difficult to navigate and a threat to pedestrians.
Despite repeated complaints from concerned residents, the local government is yet to prioritise the road repairs despite the fact that continuous patching has proven ineffective. It is clear that more durable and long-term repairs are necessary and needed as soon as possible.
Proper and timely maintenance of our roads is essential to ensure safety and reduce the financial burden on residents caused by vehicle damage. Safe and solid roads are a basic necessity in any community, and as such should not be delayed to the citizens at all.
I urge the authorities at both the local and state level to take immediate and effective steps to address this issue. By bringing this to light, I hope this letter will prompt quick action to resolve this critical concern.
