The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas on Sunday paid tributes to the Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Aromolaran, whose death was announced on Thursday.

Oba Aromolaran, a first class monarch in Osun State and one of the oldest in Yorubaland, passed away aged 86 after a 42-year reign.

The Speaker noted that the Owa Obokun Adimula was one of the most lettered traditional rulers in the country and made a great impact as an educator in the 1970s and 1980s.

He recalled how the monarch authored standard textbooks on Economics and Literature that were recommended for secondary school students.

“Oba Aromolaran was a great King who made remarkable impacts before and during his reign,” the Speaker said.

Speaker Abbas commiserated with the Aromolaran family and Ijesa people, while extending condolences to the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
