The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC has cautioned the state Governor Ademola Adeleke to desist from misusing the power of the executive to precipitate crisis in the state over the recent Court of Appeal judgement that returned the local government council chairmen that he maliciously sacked on his assumption of office over two years ago.

The earlier Governor Adeleke is abreast of the fact that Osun State is a creation of the law which could not be administered as an extension of his family estate in Ede, the better it will be for him.

The way the embattled Governor and his co-travellers have been sounding over the favourable Court of Appeal judgement that returned the APC local government council chairmen to their offices is a testimony to the fact that they need a crash programme in democratic governance.

In the first instance, it defies logic how any local government council election could be contemplated by any government that is worth its salt when it is apparent that in the face of the law, there is no vacancy for any elective offices in Osun State as from last Monday henceforth.

We want to impress it on Governor Adeleke and those thinking for him that it is anathema for any executive to assume the role of the controller of the judiciary which is constitutionally vested with autonomy by any other arms of government.

The judiciary had played its constitutional role on the local government council election debacle in the state which is binding on everybody irrespective of his status in the state and beyond.

Governor Adeleke should toe the dignifying way of approaching the Supreme Court to seek further redress on the issue of the local government council elections which had been decided in favour of the chairmen and councillors of the APC extraction.

The statement of the state governor and his men alleging the opposition of planning to cause crisis in the state is only happening in his imagination as the owner of a property could not be prevented from accessing his legal entitlement having a complimentary backung of the law.

There is no way that our elected local government council chairmen who are warming up for resumption into their respective local government council areas would crave for crisis in any part of their constituencies.

Assuming without conceding that some elements are contemplating promotion of crisis in the state, Governor Adeleke would safe us the hazzle by looking at his party thugs who have been terrorizing and attacking the innocent members and supporters of our party since the APC chairmen and councillors won the Court of Appeal judgement on Monday.

It is not an overstatement that our members and supporters have been victims of the needless attacks by the ubiquitous PDP thugs in some parts of the state since our party won the control of the government at the local government level in the state.

It is shameful that Governor Adeleke who was a beneficiary to become the state executive could result to treating the same judiciary with disrepute when the Court of Appeal judgement didn’t favour his party.

One thing that is crystal clear is that there is no vacancy at the local government council level in the state by the reason of the last Monday’s Court of Appeal judgement.

Parents and guardians should prevail on their wards and children to refuse to be willing tools of thuggery in the hands of the desperate PDP political functionaries who are relying on them when their own children are safely kept abroad.
