Students, teachers were reportedly injured as suspected herdsmen attempt to turn Ogbomosho community school premises into grazing field.

Unspecified numbers of people including teachers and students of the Community Secondary School, Alaropo Nla in Oriire local government have been reportedly injured in a clash with the suspected herdsmen on Thursday.

It was gathered that fight broke out when the school authority resisted attempt by the invaders to turn the compound into grazing field.

The students who hardly settled down after the morning devotion were reportedly forced out of their various classrooms with the roaring noise of the invaded herds of cattle.

Our source stated that the suspected herdsmen allegedly led the cattle to the school farms where crops worth hundreds of naira were destroyed.

Aside the destruction of the farmland, the invaders also allegedly inflicted injuries on the students and the teachers of the school

Some of the students and their teachers, among who are Mr. Paul Olabode, were inflicted with sword and machete cuts, while many others were left with broken legs and hands.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso said investigation is ongoing on the matter.

According to him, “Investigation has commenced into the matter. Updates would be provided accordingly, please”.
