No fewer than fifteen people were killed in a gunmen attack in Anambra on Sunday.
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the attack took place in the Nibo community during the celebration of the Onwa ASAA Festival, as well as in the Okpuno community, both in the Awka South Local Government Area of the state.
The gunfire caused panic and chaos, with people fleeing in different directions to escape the violence.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that they were aware of the suspected cult-related clash that occurred on 20/10/2024 in Nibo, Awka South Local Government.
According to him, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered the immediate deployment of additional operatives to the area for necessary action.
He said that preliminary reports on the incidents are still unclear, and the command is urging witnesses to come forward with information that could help identify the perpetrators for possible arrest.
