THE Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has pledged to increase its intervention to tertiary institutions in Plateau State.

TETFund Executive Secretary, Sonny Echono made the promise when he received the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, on courtesy visit in Abuja.

He informed the governor that the Fund has recorded improvement in the delivery of projects in Plateau State.

“In the last few years, the rate of completion of our projects has increased and improved significantly, and we are poised to make further intervention to ensure that Plateau State, giving its pre-eminent status in the (North-Central) zone, will continue to produce the manpower that is needed of our country,” Echono said.

The TETFund boss also revealed that the body was putting finishing touches to disbursement of funds for its high impact intervention projects, adding that institutions in Plateau are expected to benefit from the special projects.

Mutfwang had early on, commended TETFund for its various intervention projects in higher education institutions in Plateau.

He said the visit to TETFund was to express gratitude to the Fund and request for more projects. “This is the first federal parastatal I will be visiting after been confirmed by the Supreme Court as the governor, and I am delighted to once again have the freedom to face the issue of governance headlong.

“I chose to come to TETFund because of its importance to our educational development. I salute the foresight of those who established the institution.

“We have enjoyed tremendous support from TETFund in the past, and of course we have learnt on the way of getting more.

“We appreciate you for the intervention in our institutions particularly the state-owned ones, namely, Plateau State University; Plateau State Polytechnic and Plateau State College of Education in Gindiri; and to also thank you for the federal institutions like the University of Jos, the FCE Pankshin and the College of Veterinary Services in Vom among others,” he said.
