The only way to create memories that translate into significant rewards is to consistently solve significant problems. Whenever you find a problem that you have the capacity to solve, step up to the plate immediately and do so expeditiously. Responsibility is life’s platform for delivering rewards. Even when it appears that no one is noticing or showing appreciation for your efforts, never stop being a person of value who is constantly solving problems. In time, what you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.
Gratitude is a key, the potentials of which many of us have yet to understand and deploy. Gratitude unlocks multiplication and amplifies reward. Whatever you are grateful for will consistently increase in your life both in quantum and value. After a marathon crusade that lasted for three straight days, Jesus’ audience was exhausted and hungry. When He instructed His disciples to give them food, it sounded like a tall order, and they wasted no time in telling Him that he was asking for the impossible. He simply asked them for what was available. A young boy had five loaves of bread and two fish in his backpack. Jesus simply took that, looked up and gave thanks. Then He broke the bread and asked His disciples to give to the people. As they broke the pieces handed over to them, it continued to increase until over 10,000 (5,000 if we exclude the women and the children) people were fed. What happened? A miracle? Yes. But beyond that was the graphic illustration of a law of creation. While His disciples focused on the lack and saw the available food as the limit of their capability, Jesus saw the provision. Their limit became His potential. As long as you have potential, you are not poor. Focus on what you have. It’s your pilot to what you seek.
You are a treasure house. You just don’t know it. The knowledge of the inherent capacity is what unlocks gratitude. Ingratitude locks you in the entitlement mode that makes you believe that everyone owes you something, but you don’t owe anyone anything. It is the mindset that drives narcissists. The focus is always on what is lacking; what God or people should have given you but have not yet supplied. While concentrating on the lack, you easily forget the abundance of potential inside or around you waiting to be deployed. Ungrateful people are grumpy and irritating, an attitude that drives away any meaningful prosperity from them. On the flip side, grateful people are always brimming with joy, even when people around them think they have no reason to be. This is because they are always focused on what they have, not what they lack. Buy a car for the ungrateful man, he complains that he has no fuel to drive it with. Give a grateful person a gallon of fuel, he will thank you for thinking that he could have a car! Gratitude is the difference between a half-full cup and a half-empty one.
Every seed – of time, money, materials, people – that God places in your life comes with an internal programming to determine certain outcomes in your life. The purpose of seed is to translate it into a harvest called fruit or what the Bible sometimes calls bread. That is why your seed is the language of communication between your present and your future. When you have seed, you either spend it or invest it. Your belief system will greatly affect what you do with every seed in your life. Every seed is programmed to produce after its kind. A coconut seed will never produce mango fruits. Whatever harvest you don’t desire in your future, don’t sow the seed today. It is futile to sow corrupted seed and later pray for crop failure.
The change of seasons in your life only happens with the exercise of your faith. Our outcomes are mere reflections of our strongest beliefs. Can you remember how the programming for fear came into your life? It started when stories of bogeys, ghosts, magical, illusory characters and scenarios were repeated to you while growing up. From then on, your belief system was wired to dread any semblance of whatever those images represented or still represent in your mind. When God wants to move you to a new season or level, the first thing He makes you confront is your fear of moving from your present level to pursue a new instruction or embrace a higher level of faith that you consider difficult or impossible to attain. God never demands the impossible from man. What makes us afraid to move in the direction of higher promptings is the illogicality of that instruction. This is where trust comes into the picture. God never puts your foot on a journey that you can embark upon without Him!
Are you fighting some fierce battles that you cannot explain? I have good news for you. Brace up for greatness. The adversary only fights what he fears. Aggressors only go after those they see as potential threats. Bullies always target the most brilliant students in school. Every time you make a move in the direction of excellence or distinction, you become a threat to mediocrity that has hitherto characterized you and made ordinary people comfortable with you. An enemy is a necessity for your future. Giants are placed in your promised land, not to scare you or make the territory inaccessible, but to test your hunger and thirst for the milk and honey there. If you have no enemies, it means your life holds little or no significance. Have you ever put your hand out of the window of a moving vehicle? Did you notice that the wind was blowing it backwards even when the vehicle was moving forward? Every time you make latent energy become kinetic, you activate a law of motion; every object in motion activates resistance that is equal to its velocity. The faster and farther you want to go, the more ferocious the attacks.
There is always pressure around the birth of greatness. One of the most uncomfortable times on a flight is when the aircraft is gaining altitude after take-off. Everyone in the plane can feel the resistance. But once the pilot pushes the aircraft through the opposing atmospheric winds and clouds, he can cruise on autopilot. The enemy doesn’t fight your dreams. He is after their fulfilment. Since he has no power to stop the fulfilment, he attempts to stop you by using fear, intimidation, oppression, harassment, persecution, rejection and whatever else it would take to stop you. To succeed, your thrust and velocity (your determination to succeed and fulfill your destiny) must be equal to or greater than the winds blowing against you. To embark on its majestic ride into the clouds, the aircraft must taxi at a speed that enables it to activate the Law of Aerodynamics and suspend the Law of Gravity.
Your desire means nothing to me or anyone else until I see the gravity of your hunger. How hungry are you to become ALL that God created you to become?… continued
Remember, the sky is not your limit, God is!
