Three family members have been reportedly killed as a result of a fire incident which gutted their room while asleep in Kafanchan town of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
The fire incident it was gathered started around 11 pm on Tuesday night and burnt down houses and shops worth millions of naira.
Narrating the incident, a survivor of the fire disaster, Maikano Abdullahi, who also lost his properties to the inferno, explained that all efforts made by those who came to the house to rescue the family members from the fire failed.
“I woke up upon hearing my wife shouting for help as fire gutted Zainab’s room which is next to our room.
”What happened was terrible. We tried our best to break the door at the time of the fire incident but we couldn’t enter because the door was locked.
” Unfortunately, the couple; Abdurrahman Abdullahi aka Danjummai, his wife, Zainab Nuhu, and their daughter, Husna, all lost their lives in the inferno before we succeeded in breaking the door,”
According to him, “We could hear the wife’s screaming for help but we couldn’t do anything to help as the fire had gutted the room.”
He described the deceased, Danjummai, who was a staff with Nigeria Railway Corporation as an easygoing somebody who related with other members of the community irrespective of where you come from.
The Jama’a Emirate Council through the Madakin Jama’a and the District Head of Fada, Alhaji Audi Muhammad, and the Council Chairman, Jema’a Local Government, Yunana Barde, paid a condolence visit to the family members of the deceased at their home in Jema’a Street, Kafanchan after the burial according to Islamic rites.
