President Bola Tinubu has expressed his joyous felicitations to the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, on his 89th birthday.

According to a statement issued on Monday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity), the president saluted the renowned industrialist and philanthropist for his willingness to create opportunities for the growth of others in business and philanthropy, impacting countless lives in the process.

The statement quoted Tinubu as saying: “On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, please accept our felicitation on the auspicious occasion of your 89th birthday on September 11, 2023.

Considering the grace of wisdom, strength, and leadership influence bestowed upon you by the Almighty God, this milestone certainly calls for more celebration and thanksgiving.

“Over the years, our relationship has blossomed as friends, partners, and business leaders, both within and outside the country, and it has been the joy of my life to see you consistently investing in humanity with your quintessential kindness and charitable heart.

“At 89, my dear Esama, you have made a huge difference in the Nigerian economy, and you continue to impact many lives.

Your footprints of excellence in entrepreneurship are visible in real estate, banking, energy, media, transportation, health, and education, with a remarkable record of founding the first private university in Nigeria.”

The President prayed for enduring grace, peace, and good health for the Patriarch of the Igbinedion family now and in the years ahead.

In a separate statement by the presidential spokesman, President Tinubu also congratulated His Royal Highness, the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, on the occasion of his 71st birthday and the commemoration of his landmark 20th year on the highly revered throne.

The President has described the first-class monarch, who is also the Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, as a consummate statesman and a most respected national leader.

“I join a multitude of Nigerians, family members, and friends in celebrating His Royal Highness, the Etsu Nupe. This is a remarkable moment that calls for thanksgiving in the celebration of a purposeful life that has been well lived,” the President stated.

The President noted that throughout his decorated career as a military official and upon his ascension to the revered throne of his forefathers two decades ago, the traditional ruler has remained steadfast in his service to Nigeria and his people.

He prayed for more fulfilling years for the traditional ruler and urged him to rededicate himself in his effort to improve society.
