A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and businessman, Otunba Tayo Adebanjo, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for restoring confidence and the lost glory of Nigeria, particularly among Nigerians in the diaspora. Speaking at the Canadian-Nigerian Business Council’s luncheon at the Marriott Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, Otunba Adebanjo highlighted how the policies and actions of President Tinubu are beginning to change global perceptions of Nigeria.
According to Adebanjo, Nigeria, which has long been isolated on the global stage, is now regaining its place as a reputable nation, a development that will soon attract more international investors. “The world is starting to take notice of Nigeria again, and very soon, global business leaders will have confidence in their Nigerian counterparts,” he remarked.
Adebanjo, during his address at the event, emphasized the need for President Tinubu to focus on a strategic cabinet reshuffle, recommending the inclusion of professionals in key ministries. He also urged the President to appoint a seasoned media expert to lead the nation’s image-making efforts. He mentioned Bayo Onanuga as a fitting candidate for the position of Information Minister, citing his extensive experience and sacrifices since the military era as unquantifiable.
“If Bayo Onanuga is appointed as the Information Minister, he would effectively communicate the government’s plans and policies to the masses,” Adebanjo said. “Many Nigerians are unaware of the positive policies this administration is implementing, focusing instead on rising food prices. Onanuga has the expertise to bridge that communication gap and highlight the government’s achievements and future plans.”
Adebanjo concluded by calling for better engagement with the media to ensure Nigerians are well-informed about the progress being made by the government.
