Barrister Abiodun Aribisala, Founder and CEO of the Aribisala Care Foundation, international tax consultant, and a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on Nigerians to exercise patience and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

In an online interview with Nationnewslead on Tuesday evening, Aribisala addressed the ongoing protests, emphasizing that President Tinubu is dedicated to fulfilling his electoral promises aimed at Nigeria’s prosperity. He acknowledged the discomfort caused by current economic policies, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the naira, but assured that these measures are essential for establishing a strong foundation for the country’s future growth.

“There is no doubt that Nigerians are facing hard times, but this is not deliberate, nor a sign of failure on the part of the president,” Aribisala stated. “For us to enjoy a prosperous Nigeria, we must be ready to sacrifice a little, and that is what is currently happening.”

Aribisala stressed that the economic difficulties are not intentional and that President Tinubu’s policies are designed to strengthen the economy. “Mr. President meant well for Nigerians. He will not gain anything deliberately by inflicting pain on Nigerians. All the economic policies put in place by the president that are causing the pains are actually meant to strengthen our economy.”

He urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the president, expressing confidence that Tinubu will continue to improve the welfare of the citizens. He noted that the Tinubu administration inherited a struggling economy, and that fixing it for the benefit of Nigerians requires patience.

Aribisala outlined several priority areas for economic revitalization, including quality agricultural practices, a robust marketing system, enhanced healthcare and education systems, improved electricity supply, and tackling corruption. “The government will continue to strengthen our economy by investing in industries, promoting local production, and developing the agricultural value chain, which will help reduce our dependence on imports and crude oil,” he added.

Additionally, Aribisala appealed to opposition party leaders to refrain from making statements and spreading narratives that could further divide the country.
