1. Ibeno Beach

Ibeno Beach is in Ibeno Local Government Area, the South end of Akwa Ibom State. It is regarded as one of the longest beaches in West Africa. The beautiful trees lined along the beach serve as a shade for people to relax and discuss. Ibeno beach provides an exciting experience for both tourists and indigenes. Boating and soccer make the beach fun for visitors. 

2. Obudu Mountain Resort

Obudu Mountain Resort, formerly known as “Obudu Cattle Ranch” is in Cross River state. It is near the Cameroon border; the Northeastern part of the state. There are different outdoor activities you can do like horse-riding, swimming, hiking and golfing. You can relax on the pool bed or even in the water. If you’re interested in hiking, for safety, go with firm boots. 

3. Ogbunike Cave

Ogbunike Cave is located in a tropical rainforest behind a hill called “Ogba” in Ogbunike, Anambra state. The cave has a lengthy walkway made up of many steps. At the end of it, there is an open space used for entertaining visitors. It has a big structure with interconnected tunnels leading to different directions. Water flows from one of the  tunnels into Nkissa river. “Ime Ogba” is a celebration organised every year to commemorate the discovery of the cave and its spiritual significance.

4. Ikogosi Warm Spring

Ikogosi warm spring is in Ekiti state, South-West Nigeria. Ikogosi is known to have flowing water both warm and cold which meet at a point. The warm spring is 70°C before it meets the cold spring and becomes 37°C. These attributes have made Ikogosi a tourist attraction in Nigeria. There is a belief that the hot water has the power to heal; it can cure arthritis and hypertension.

5. Lekki Conservation Centre

Lekki Conservation Centre is a nature reserve in Lekki, Lagos state. Over the years, it has become one of the most visited tourist destinations in Nigeria. It has beautiful features, including a sports court, picnic area and features to entertain visitors. The Centre is a representation of preserving natural values in Nigeria.

6. Erin-Ijesha Waterfall

Erin-Ijesa waterfalls in Osun state is an ancient beauty hill with big trees and rocks. The water flows between the rocks and splashes down. The waterfall is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Nigeria. It has also made Osun state famous and important for tourism.

7. Tarkwa Bay

Tarkwa Bay is a beach in Lagos; regarded as one of the best places to go if you need a break or a calm environment to relax. The beach is peaceful and it would make you not worry about your daily hustle. Tarkwa Bay is a well kept beach and it’s good for water sports.

8. Gashaka-Gumti National Park

Gashaka-Gumti National Park is in North-East Nigeria. It is near the international border with Cameroon. It is the largest national park in Nigeria. The name of the park is derived from two regions; Gashaka village in Taraba state and Gumti in Adamawa state. The park has many habitats such as chimpanzees, golden cat, buffalo, lion, elephant and so on. The park is called one of Africa’s “Important Bird Areas” because it has more than five-hundred species.

9. Olumo Rock 

Olumo Rock is located in Abeokuta, Ogun state. It is a natural fortress used during inter-tribal war in the 19th century. The name “Olumo” is a combination of two words; “Olu” means god and “mo” means “mould”. It is one of the beautiful and most famous places in Nigeria. It has become tourists’ favourite destination. This rock provided shelter for the Egba people of Abeokuta during wars. As the town grew, settlers dispersed.

10. Yankari Game Reserve

Yankari Game Reserve is a wildlife park in Bauchi state. It accommodates several animals which includes; monkey, antelope, lion, buffalo and hippopotamus. The essence of creating this national park is to protect the environment and provide amusements.
